01. OATS

Oats are one of the largest grain crops that Pakistan grows. Most oats get their bran and germ removed through processing. That’s why most food products containing ‘ oats such as oat flour or oatmeal contain wholegrain oats.

Saremco International’s oats are naturally rich in beta-glucan. They have a soluble fiber found in their bran and endosperm layer of the oat grain as well. Its component Beta-glucan has been shown to improve blood glucose. In your body, it controls meal digestion and improves insulin responses. It also decreases cholesterol levels.

02. BARLEY

It is also a cereal grain that was originally native to Asian countries like Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka. Barley is very important according to ancient times and was one of the first grains that are in production all around the globe. Barley is a big part of cereals export from Pakistan.

However, when bread became popular in the 19th century, the consumption of barley is moved to grains like wheat and rye. It has lower gluten content which provides the framework for the dough to rise, this application of barley in the production of bread. Only fewer companies in developing countries export barley as their routine ingredient. Although, a discovery has been made that barley is high in beta-glucan and it has given rise to its use in healthy and organic food products, especially foods that are only for cardiovascular health.

A huge proportion of the world’s barley supply is used in the making of beer. Barley remains a staple food for less developing countries such as those in North Africa and in areas where wheat does not grow, such as Tibet. 03. RYE

Rye came into development later than wheat, grain, and oats. Its popularity in ancient civilizations like Egyptians and Greeks make it popular. It is the basic grain that makes bread in Northern Europe and Russia. It only produces well in colder, harsher atmospheres. People of these harsh atmosphere regions prefer rye over other cereals. Rye contains less gluten than wheat flour, and this makes rye bread essentially denser. Conventional Rye pieces of bread are made with a sourdough technique so it has a sharp taste when compared with wheat bread. Light Rye flour bread is whole grain flour.
